Why Does SEO Cost so Much?
Too often I run into business owners who either,
- don't believe in the value of SEO, or
- try to manage it themselves
Let me tell you with confidence (and experience), if you’re doing anything digital at all, there is real value in SEO; but attempting to “jimmy-rig” the back-end of your website on your personal dime is a rabbit hole you don’t want to fall into. Your time (and sanity) are simply worth more.
I’ve seen dramatic improvements in google search results from something as simple as basic tweaks to copy. I’ve also seen scenarios where major back-end overhauls were necessary to influence appropriate indexing. Google’s search algorithm is complex, nebulous, and ever-changing. Essentially, Google’s always trying to stay one step ahead and keep search as organic and relevant as possible. It takes a careful and calculated approach to coax the system, but it can be done. What Google’s gotten good at, is weeding out the amateurs.
Trust me, don’t be the weed. SEO needs to be approached with the respect its complexity demands. There really isn’t a “formula” to this solution. The problem is that many business owners see the price tag for quality SEO management and think, “why would I pay that much for something that takes you twenty minutes to fix?” The cold hard truth is, that you’re not paying an SEO expert for the quantity of time they work, you’re paying them for a solution.
There are times when that solution can be an extremely quick to fix, but do you know where to look? A keyword in the title? A keyword in the meta description? Length of content? Duplicate content? Canonical tags? Image optimization? The list goes on and on and on. The bottom line is, you are simply grasping in technical darkness when attempting to MacGyver your SEO.
Do yourself and your business a favor and hire an expert to provide a solution. Don’t buy yourself a problem. Your time, money, sanity and the success of your company are worth more.
