How to Generate Leads from Your Blog
Today I want to talk a little bit about how to generate leads from your blog. This is such an underrated strategy, particularly for small, localized businesses. I'm talking about HVAC companies, plumbers, dentists, attorneys, CPAs, roofers, chiropractors, med spas, or other companies like those. For whatever reason, most small business owners give little thought or legitimacy to blogging because they simply don't understand how it can help them to grow their business.
The most common refrain I hear is that no one reads blog articles anymore. My standard counter-argument to this is that no one reads boring blog articles anymore. If you are being genuinely helpful, educational, useful, or entertaining, people will read your blog.
The second refrain that I hear is that blogging does nothing to generate leads or sales for their company. The most common culprit I have found for this is the layout of the blog isn't conducive to generating leads. This is kinda like complaining that no one calls your business and not having your phone number on your website. Of course no one calls your business...there's no way for them to do so!
Blogging is very similar. If you think someone is going to just read your article and then hunt for a way to reach out to you then you are sadly mistaken.
